There are rules on how financial services and credit can be advertised. The lender providing the credit has to make sure that the rules are followed. In advertising lending fraud:

1. The fraudster run ads on social media platform to target vulnerable people looking for loan or credit.

2. Once the user clicks on the ad, it takes them to a lending form asking for their sensitive details.

3. Many customers enter secure credentials such as PIN, OTP, Passwords, etc

4. The information obtained is now captured and used by the fraudster to phish these customers.
